rpc server unavailable when installing printer driver

HI, I got this RPC server unavailable error when I try to
install driver for my EPSON C44UX printer on WinXP Pro
SP1. I checked the services & found 2 rpc related service
& one is not started so I started it & tried again but
failed with same message.

Does anybody have a clue? The printer connects to my PC
with USB port.

I just figure it out: it's Norton Antivirus 2003 that's
causing the problem. After I turned off AutoDetect, the
driver installed successfully. Thanks for the advice
though.
