RPC Server is unavailable

On Saturday the "Geek Squad" from Best Buy did a remote fix on my computer,
removing some spyware. After 2 hours the computer was clean. The next
morning I went to print and got numerous errors about the print spooler not
running and RPC Server is unavailable. The computer will allow me to
manually reinstall my printer software but is not recognizing the printer if
I try to install a printer when prompted. I called the Geek Squad back and
told them that as a result of the action taken on Saturday, I don't have a
working printer. They want to charge me another $79 since my problem on
Saturday was taken care of. Needless to say I am not happy. Corporate Best
Buy will be hearing from me, but in the meantime does anyone know of a fix?
Thanks, Dee

You can verify the services configuration, referring to the defaults given
here:

Microsoft Windows XP - Default settings for services:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/.../proddocs/en-us/sys_srv_default_settings.mspx

Warning: Altering the services incorrectly can affect your system
performance easily. So, it's your duty to make appropriate backups first.
Create a System Restore point, and in addition, use ERUNT to do a complete
registry backup.
