RPC Patch win xp

I am having difficulty installing the above patch,the
above patch is run from the exe file which starts ok, but
stops part way through, with the following
error 'Cryptographic service has not started, this is not
the case as i have checked that the said service is
running, any idea's please as this one is new to me !!

Hi

Your Cryptographic Service is most likely running fine, renaming or deleting
the Catroot2 folder is most likely what you need to do to solve the problem.

The Catroot2 problem can be avoided in the future by installing Q817287.
