roxio easy cd creator will not burn anything!!!

I am trying to burn a cd and half way between burnings, a
message pops up saying there is an error and it shuts the
whole program down. I have tried everthing that I can and
have ruined tons of blank cds in the process. I have
tried to burn data cds, music cds, etc... , but none
work. If anyone knows anything about the program and can
help me please do? I have tried to restore the problems,
but that also didn't work! Thanks!

Two things :

Right Click on My Computer > Manage > Services and Applications > Services
and make sure I
MAPI CD Burning COM Service is disabled. Re-boot and try again. FYI : IMAPI
is the internal
XP burning service and could possibly be causing a conflict with your Poxio.
(Nero is better and
easier to use).

Try cleaning the lens but more important, do you have access to another CD
burner that you could
substitute in your's place ? If that one works when yours doesn't, your
toaster is knackered !
This happend to me a few months ago. CD burners are cheap nowadays.
