Router not connecting.

Hi,
I have Windows 2000 Professional with SBC DSL connection.
I need to share this connection with another PC using
Windows XP.
I purchased a D-Link wireless Router (DI-514). But when I
connect it between my modem and my PC, I loose the net
connection and neither does the other PC has access to the
Net.
I called Tech Support at D-Link and after checking my
problem, they said that my WINSOCK2 was either corrupted
or missing and I needed to re-install it.
So where do I get this Winsock2 ? And does it come in a
patch or is a driver?
Thanks.

Your tech support department probably doesn't know what they're talking
about.
Call them back and try to get a different tech.

Try cloning the MAC address of the network card in the original PC to the
WAN side of the router.
