I am frustrated! I am losing control of my rot drive!
I clean my c drvie of temp files and clearing the recycle bin every other
days. However I noticed that the free space in my c drvie has been reducing
progressively every other day. I could not fiure out or locate what are the
files that are added to my c drive (apart from the internet temp files and
cache files from certain applications).
Can someone assist to let me know what files Windows are adding and where
are these files likely to be located. Furthermore what extension files are
safe to be deleted totally? Thanks.
I run Won XP SP2 version 5.1.2600.

Can you monitor the sizes of pagefile.sys and hiberfile.sys to see if
they're expanding?

What is your degree of magnitude?

Are we talking Kilbytes, megabytes, gigabytes per day?
What is the average space lost?

Are you the only user on this machine?
Have you installed any P2P software?

In reponse to your question about extensions of file extensions that are
safe to delete, the answer is none.

It is safe to delete any file that is not used by anything, but extension is
only a starting clue as to why a file is there. Until you know why a file is
there, it is not safe to remove it.
