roaming profile/login time problem

i'm having a problem with roaming profiles on two
destktop xp pro boxes. i'm sure this isn't a server
issue because i don't have this problem with my laptop.

i timed this desktop... to see how long it took to login.
it took friggin NINETY minutes for anything to
happen!!!!! and then it tells me the same... i can't find
the error blah blah blah.

one thing i did notice. when you login with a new
account, for some reason the profile isn't created
locally.

so what i did was create domain user accounts on the
client machine separately and gave them admin rights, and
i tried logging in with them again... again the same
problem... long-ass wait times, and it gave the same
error message and again, the domain profile directory
wasn't created.

i even tried to manually create the directory, in the
hope that the domain login would populate that
directory... but still nothing.

just wondering... but that one winxp sign or seal
registry entry... when you need to get an xp machine
working with samba... that didn't have anything to do
with this did it?

btw, here is some more info....

Verify your wss point to the inside DNS server, not to an ISP's DNS server.
