Please double check the permission settings on the \\server1\data\profiles\
to make sure the current user has full permission to this folder.
Also make sure that this path is not mistyped in the user's profile setting.
Check \\server1\data\profiles\ manually.
Hope it helps!
Have a great day!

Hi Steven,
Thanks for posting!
Basically, change the user password should not lead to such behavior.
Would you please log on to the file server that store the users'
profiles
to check the folder's ownership?
At the same time, we may enable the userenv.log on the client machine
that
the user try to log on from.
Here is an article about how to enable the userenv.log

Hi,
All our users are getting the following error message after they have
changed their password (forced expirery after X days...).
Windows cannot create profile directory
\\server\share\profiles\username.pds. You will be logged on with a
local profile only. Changes to the profile will not be propagated to the
server. Contact your network administrator.
Any idea how to resolve this?
Thanks
