I have a new tablet without a CDROM. I have a desktop running XP Pro.
Both of them have ether connections to a D-Link cable router.

I want to reload XP on the tablet by booting from the desktop CD
drive. My sketchy research teaches me that if the desktop is running
RIS and the tablet has a PXE NIC (it does) I have a client and a
server and I can do it.

The desktop doesn't have RIS loaded and it isn't listed in "Add
Windows Components". The MS page that compares Pro with Home says
that Pro has RIS. See it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/howtobuy/choosing2.mspx

When I search the MS site for RIS all that comes up are Win2K server
and 2003 server. Nothing about XP Pro. What am I missing here?

Why, when he's asking specifically about XP?

XP is a bit different when installed on a Tablet PC, hence a specialized
newsgroup.

RIS is a Service available only in Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2000
Server. It is used for deployment in the enterprise
