RIS, Windows 2000 and Updates

I am attempting to do a bulk install on 5 machines. I have
built 1 computer with all the apps and IE SP1 update. This
is where it gets tricky. If I run RIPREP.exe right now
before I install Windows SP4 I can copy the image to the
RIS server. If I install the Windows 2000 SP4 and then the
IE Cumulative updates, when I try to copy that image to
the server it gives me an error message. The message
states that the newly imaged system is not the same CD as
whats on my RIS server. Now I KNOW that this is not the
case cause I have only used 1 CD to create images with. I
am guessing that some file is changed when I install SP4
and that causes my error. Is there a way to create a RIS
image with the SP4 and IE cumulative updates. I read
somewhere a month ago I can install Win2K and SP4 and
hotfixes in 1 "clean install" but I want to know if this
is going to work with my RIS installations. Also could you
please tell me where can I find that information regarding
how to install the Win2K Pro OS with the Service Packs and
hotfixes. Secondly if I can not create an image with the
service packs and hotfixes, can I use a script to run
after the OS install is complete to install those updates.
If so can I just copy the "pre-installers" (there usually
about 500K or less) that get downloaded when a an update
occurs on a regular 2000 client.

Any comments, or paths to correction would be much
appreciated. Thank you in advance.

You must have Win2000SP4 initial CD-based image.
You need to slipstream your Win2000 installation files (\I386 folder on CD)
with SP4.
But DO NOT do it on the volume where you have your images (\RemoteInstall
folder)!
Do it on another partition (say C: drive).
After you do it, run risetup.exe to add another CD based image with your
slipstreamed installation files as source.
Then you can run Riprep.
On Win2000, RIS checks NTOSKRNL.EXE to see if Ripreped version is the same
as original. If it's not, tough luck.
Win2003 RIS is better.
