RIS setup

Can you make a image and reimage it on the RIS server. Is there a limit of
how many times you can reimage it if so.

Qsar, can you please clarify. If you're asking if you can image a PC and
then put that image on a RIS server, the answer is yes, using riprep. First
you would need to run sysprep though.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. We don't make images of our
systems. We load an XPSP1 slipstreamed I386 onto the Ris Server and add \
remove \ modify via the .sif file and GPOs

I'm not too clear as to what you mean by 'many times you can reimage it'

Icarus,

From what I understand of riprep and sysprep is that they are supposed to be
used exclusively of each other, not in combination. Running riprep on a
system ready for uploading to RIS should take care of all of the tasks that
sysprep does with regards to removing security information from the operating
system, etc.

Qsar,

I believe that you can make as many images as you like and upload them to
RIS as long as your RIS volume has the available capacity, you just have to
use file permissions to limit which images you want certain user groups to be
able to apply.
