Right Mouse Click Problem

SirLar

When I do a right mouse click on drop down menu for My Computer... Get
normal drop down menu, then screen goes blank (looses al icons), then get
Explorer error, do you want to report window. When I close it.. icons come
back, but some icons in task bar at bottom of screen are missing. Very
frustrating since this is my preferred method to do properties on drives.

Were there any recent auto-Microsoft downloads that might have caused this?
Or, what to do??

Thanks for any help.

Right-click on MY Computer and select:
Properties > Advanced > Performance (Settings)
and uncheck the following items, then click Apply:

-- Show shadows under menus
-- Show shadows under mouse pointer
-- Show translucent selection rectangle
-- Show windows contents while dragging
-- Use a background image for each folder type
