Right-clicking desktop icons locks system

John Gilkey

I have an issue with right-clicking icons. When I do the systems goes off to
la la land and I never get the context-sensitive menu.
I can right-click the desktop - such as to set display preferences, or
right-click within an application. The problem seens isolated with icons on
I basically have to do a hard reset. Any thoughts as to where the problem
lies and how I go about resolving the issue?

Per your recommendation on wierd right-click behavior, I downloaded
ShellExView and ran the application, selectively eliminating context menu
handlers till I hit the one causing the problem (Aladan DropStuff) which
Idisabled before going backand uninstalling the application. ALL IS WELL!

Good job Wesley!

This is a real common problem, John. The deal is that nobody knows ahead of
time what the offending item might be, the list is very long. Keep having
fun. ;-)
