Hello, I am having a problem with my mouse. At least the way it clicks on
things. For the most part the mouse works as it should. I am using a Compaq
Computer, Windows XP Home (preinstalled) about nine months old. The problem
is three parts:
1. On the welcome screen when the user name is click the password line does
not appear. By using the down arrow key on the keyboard the password line can
be brought up and entered.
2. While in Windows Explorer drag and drop does not function. The files can
be moved or copied by cut and paste. When clicked and dragged an icon does
follow the mouse cursor but when released over the new location the file does
not let go. Drag and drop does work in other programs.
3. Sometimes the program with focus will not respond to the mouse clicks. If
another program is given focus and then focus is returned to the orginal
program it will then respond (normally).
I have searched with multiple programs for viruses and spyware and found none.
I am using MS OneCare and MS Defender, I have also tried Adaware, Mcaffee,
and Trendware.
Compaq has suggested using:
sfc /scannow -- which found nothing wrong.
Any suggestion would be great.
Thank you
