Right click

My wife's computer is running Windows XP PRo - when she tries to right click
for menu items it seems to take a minute before menu opens. Can anyone tell
me if there is a setting which can be changed to speed up this process?

Thanks

Ian

No setting for that but, sounds as though there could be several other
possible situations.
Do you do routine cleanup and defrag?
Is the amount of physical memory < 256 MB?
Have you tweaked the virtual memory settings? Or just let XP manage it
(best)?

Some people will blame EVERYTHING on viruses, you could report that your
computer was on fire, flames were shooting out, what should you do, and
you will get people who would say "you should check for viruses."

Slow right clicks can sometimes be something that SP2 appears to have
broken for hundreds of people. Search via google for ShellExView and
read some of that. See if that sounds like something you might be
able to do.

If that doesn't do it then your chances are dwindling fast.
