Right Click reads all drives, why?

Ok, I have a quad core 6600, 8gb of PC6400, two ATI XT1950, 1.5tb across 4
SATA drives, a Plextor 760a DVD-R, a Plextor Premium CD-R and 2 22" HP
w2207's... no, I'm not bragging. I'm pointing out that I shouldn't be waiting
for Vista 64bit Ultimate everytime I right-click on a folder to read the
CD/DVD drives. It seriously takes 30 seconds to a minute for the menu to pop
up if I right-click on a folder or a file because Vista has to read the
CD/DVD drives. Is there anyway to disable this or speed it up. It is
seriously wearing on me. Thank You.

Is there any possibility that you have the drives set to power down when not
used for some amount of time.
Also there are some SATA drives specifically designed for large RAID systems
that automatically go into a reduced power mode when not used for some
amount of time.

Hi Clevo
I only have 1 250gb drive on my system but what I have noticed is that
if I left click on a drive or folder and then right click the same thing I
get almost instant directory tree. If I just right click on them it has some
kind of delay.

I actually have all of my SATA drives set to Maximum Performance if you right
click on them and go to policies. I guess it's just a Vista quirk. Can't wait
for Windows 7 or whatever their calling it.
