windows vista ultimate32 bit...2 x 750 gb sata wd hdd..en8800gt top 512mb
graphics...4gb DDr3 Ram. ..asus p5e3 premium mobo. intel q9550 quad core
2.83ghz cpu. trying to install Adobe CS4 ..(4 disks approx 3.9gb
each).process stops and hangs locks pc ... tried to put installations files
in install point on desktop (as recommended) first disk of about 3.93gb
transferred from dvd drive in approx 12 minutes but subsequent disks of
approx same amount start to slow down and disc 3 took over an hour...to
transfer ...seems like the more I try to copy to hd disk from dvd or install
from dvd or from files copied to hdd the more the system slows...then hangs
and freezes vista

have I got something set wrong ... is a cache not releasing files...with the
setup i have this should be a fast pc all the time...
thanks in advance

nearly 600gb free space and defragged ...i think the problem might have been
that I recently upgraded from 2gb to 4gb Ram and I noticed when tracking this
problem that although windows had upped the page file it was only to about
3gb so i upped it again and the problem has now solved itself ...I have 4gb
ram installed and although i realise 32bit vista will only use about 3.25 it
should have upped the virtual memory a lot more...

hmmm...no that didn't work ... still slowing right down...i just tried the
same files from dvd first 3.9 gb took approx 7 minutes then second 3.8 gb
took half an hour
third 3.8 gb taking almost an hour as I type...what is going on??? i have
cleared temp files after each transfer etc...task manager shows cpu well
within limits say at between 5 and 17% and memory shows as about 28% to about
48% but in resources it is saying approx 1.9gb ram in use but only 9 yes 9
free????
