right click options trouble

E

Ed Luskey

when you right click on a file, it brings up a window that gives you
options on what you can do with that file.

Well how do you get rid of some of those options? I uninstalled a
program I wasn't using and now when I right click on a file I'm still
seeing that program listed as an option to use.

Thanks

Hi Ed,

Depending on your wanting to know skills: )

It depends on where in the right click menu.

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\OpenWithList
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
