Right Button Mouse Menu Problems

I have returned to my PC after a few days away and note that the right button
mouse menu - when pointing at drives in my computer - has been reordered. So
when I click left button mouse, instead of opening the drive I get a search
window. How can i reorder the menu? All offers of help gratefully received!!

Assuming there is nothing wrong with the mouse itself, GO to Control
Panel, Select Mouse, double click on it, select properties, change to
Right Hand (or left hand if this helps). You will need to change to
Classic View to find Mouse Icon in control panel unless you know a thing
or two about category view.

If this doesn't help then hardware problems; perhaps try another mouse
to see if it helps!

Search opens when double clicking a folder: Line 18 on the right at

Click Start | Run and type or copy/paste this command:

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

This happens when you alter the Drive entry via File Types dialog. It
doesn't happen spontaneously while the computer is off.

Click Start > Run > Copy/paste following > Click OK
reg add "HKCR\Drive\shell" /ve "none" /f

The Context Menu sort order is never the cause; the double-click selects
the item that is in bold.

Dear Anonymouse - very apt.

I did not make myself clear. What has been reordered is the right button
menu list. This list used to have "open" at the top of the options, so when
i left button clicked it opened the folder. Now it has "search" at the top
of the menu. So when I left click it activates the search menu. Pain in the
rodents this is. Your indulgence appreciated

there are only two drives / files / icons where
this happens - really weird.

If there is a file named AutoRun.inf in the root of drive, rename it or delete it. If
not try this(this is different and correct) :

Click Start > Run > Copy/paste following > Click OK
reg add "HKCR\Drive\shell" /ve /d "none" /f

In Windows Explorer click Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
In with those whose extension is (NONE) you'll find Folder. Highlight it
and click Advanced.
Select Explore or Open and click Set Default.
