Something happened... I had 2007 installed and the view of the "ribbons" was
active.... then something happened and I lost the 'ribbon view' for the old
style of toolbars. How can I bring the RIBBON ICONS back?

The Ribbon is featured in the following 2007 Microsoft Office system programs:

- Office Access 2007
- Office Excel 2007
- Office PowerPoint 2007
- Office Word 2007
- Office Outlook 2007 (in open items such as Mail, Contacts, and Appointments)

There is no way to delete or replace the Ribbon with the toolbars and menus
from the earlier versions of Microsoft Office. However, you can minimize the
Ribbon to make more space available on your screen.

To minimize or restore the Ribbon, press CTRL+F1

suntzu, thank you... but I WANT the ribbon and my To-Do bar on the right when
I am in "inbox". It disapeared!!!! Well, I was doing I do not know what...
when it did... and I cannot recover it. Somehow I manage to replace the
ribbon with the bars!!!! Can you beleive it? I did it... but do not know
how! I tried to bring the ribbon back... and no luck.... can you help?

From my understanding, the ribbon will only appear when you open items such
as Mail, Contacts, and Appointments. It will not appear in your Reading Pane.
However, the To-Do Bar will appear (Alt F2) within the Pane.

For example - when you are in your Contacts folder - depending on how your
Current view is set up (ie. Business Cards, Address Cards, Detailed Address
Cards, etc.) you will see your contacts - at the top of this pane you will
not see the Ribbon. If you open a contact (ie. Jane Doe), a new window will
open and the Ribbon appears.
