ribbon and pivot table

I am attempting to create a pivot table, but the ribbon has that option
"greyed out". How can I make this option available on the ribbon?
 
I cannot reproduce this even with an empty worksheet
Try a new sheet just in case the current one has something special
preventing pivot tables
Then come back to us
