After installation of winxp pro, Win98 (which was on the
same disk and partition) can't boot (multi bootloader
doesn't start, no special bootloaders were used before).
Bootsect.dos and bunch of 98's files (as msdos.sys) in
root cannot be found. Is there a way to make multiboot
work?

Good point, but doesn't help. Scanning process in
recovery console (like bootcfg /scan) couldn't find win98.
Is there other way?

You are interested in the Bootcfg command.
