I also look at what normal people say about the product not just what a
online magazine company says because they do not test it like the normal
user. So don't knock a product just because one online magazine website
doesn't like it. besides i read the article and they are wrong on alot they
say.

these are just a few reviews on AVG and I can give you hundred more.

You made your point twice in the previous thread.
You did not have to start a new thread just because you like the product
so much.

Just a thought.

But these reviews, Robin, are mainly concerned with AVG antivirus. Everyone
is agreed that's good. The bad review I pointed to in the other thread
concerned two OTHER specific components of the AVG Security suite - the
antispyware and the firewall. What worries me about the firewall issue is
that the review offered a specific test of it, showing how easy it is for
malware to defeat it. That's not something I could expect to pick up from the
comments of generally satisfied users, and I'd feel uneasy about just
ignoring it. What was stated wasn't an opinion - it was the result of what
appeared to be a thorough test.

you could have 6 different malware programs and one will pick up one and so
on and so on.
In fact that is acutally what happened to me. I had a particular malware.
Adaware and spybot and AVG did not pick it up. Superantispware did- go
figure and I pay for AVG spyware.
I also found that i had a different occasion, the others did not pick up
another malware i got and AVGspyware did.
If there was one all spyware program there would not be others out there- it
would not be needed.

I started the new threat because i only download new headers and lost the
original post, that is why i did it this way.

The review didn't criticise AVG's ability to detect malware - only its
ability to remove it. This aspect of the review doesn't bother me too much.
I'm well aware of the limitations of any one antispyware program, and have a
battery of alternative scanners waiting if AVG fails..
