This must be a default name in Word in Office XP, as it
also appears on the list of reviewers in Word in our newly
installed Office XP.

FWIW, I'm using Word 2002 and see just myself and All Reviewers. Is there
perhaps a common OEM thread. Ken, do you also have a Compaq?

In my four-user xp PC only I have Allan Stratton listed with me as a
reviewer of any (all) of my Word documents. I installed the software while
logged in to this account; others just launch from the Start/Programs menu
and generate their own settings and documents in their own directory
structure (normal operations for multiple user accounts on one machine).

One other person has commented that Stratton shows up of his machine, too.

Who is this guy and how do I make him go away?

Hi Ken

At Tools > Templates and Add-ins, do you have any files listed under Global templates and add-ins?

I've been playing around trying to work out how this could come about. My guess is that the mysterious Allan Stratton has left an
un-accepted tracked change in an add-in.

Add-ins can be loaded when Word starts if they are stored in the folder given at Tools > Options > File Locations > Startup. So to
test my theory, you could exit Word, use Windows Explorer to move all the files in that folder to another folder somewhere else.
Then re-start Word. Is Mr Stratton still with you? If not, put those files back one by one until you find the one that triggers the
arrival of Mr Stratton.

If that doesn't work, then exit Word, find normal.dot (it will be in the folder shown at Tools > Options > File Locations > User
Templates). Re-name it as OldNormal.dot, then re-start Word. Any luck there?

This is very curious. Do please come back here to let us all know how you get on!

I've encountered the same problem, and have tried all your
suggestions. Allan Stratton is still there. Any other
ideas/suggestions?

I use track changes often, and have never encountered this
before. I haven't added any add-ins in the past year.

Ken, by any chance, do you use RoboHelp?
