reverting to previous edition

I have microsoft word 2007, and can't stand it -- it is so complicated and is
missing key features i used in previous editions. Is there any option in Word
07 that will make it look like an earlier version?

I have felt your pain, but given time I have learned to generally like it
better than previous versions. AFAIK, with the exception of the sorely
missed AutoCompleteSuggestion tip when typing AutoText entries all of the
other key features are still around plus some neat new ones. Don't give up.

No. There is no option like you seek. You can however recreate most of the
old familiar menus using ribbon customization techniques. Brace yourself as
it is no small task. See:

or you could by a third party application that does if for you. One is
