Reverting to Outlook Express

Wotcha

I've got fed up with Vista Home Premium after 5 months and decided to go
back to XP to see if it is any better and also decide if I should try to
persevere with Vista.

However, I am unable to import my Windows Mail messages back into
Outlook Express. I have them in a different message store to the
default. I have them on my E drive in a folder called 'Windows Mail
messages'. I set the OE store folder to read them there but it doesn't
like it. It says that another program has them open, if I recall.

Can the messages be reverse-read by OE, or can they be converted in some
way so that OE can read them?

I should add that I tried to import the messages but I could only do so
from a OE6 message store, which of course, it is not. I original
imported them from OE6 of course, but now they seem to have been
converted to Windows Mail format and I think they are stuck that way.

As I originally said, can they be converted back through some utility or
other?

Hi Watcha

Just copy them manually on to a Cd (drag and drop) in vista and then when
you install XP just drag and drop them into outlook express. Worked ok for
me. if you have lots of email folders you will have to create these manually
and drag and drop into those. Hope that works ok for you.
