Revert to Vista standard start menu after classic?

I initially set up a new Vista laptop with quick deployment in mind and
therefore selected the more familiar Classic Start Menu. Now that I have
more time, I want to re-enable the standard Vista Start menu. However when I
tried to switch back the option is gone. Only the Classic start menu is
available, the Vista one isn't even grayed out in the background - it's
totally disappeared! Anyone know how to fix?

How I've been changing start menu: right click on system tray \ properties\
start menu

I appreciate the suggestion. Does anyone else have a recommendation on
getting the original Vista start menu back other than 3rd party software?

Do you really mean system tray? I right-click on the Start icon to
change the menu.

Anyway, what I would do is to separate OS problems from your personal
customization problems by creating a new user account (e.g. the 'test'
user) and see if 'test' has the same problem that you do. If so, the
problem is with Vista, otherwise the problem is something you have
modified in your personal user account.

This is an option, but I have the same problem and I could be more convenient to fix this problem in other way. It is possible to change standard and classic menu in XP so why not in Vista?! Unfortunatelly I dont have a solution to this problem (only reinstal OS or using the other user account)
