reverse an update

Is there any way to back out a windows xp update? Last night when I signed
off windows installed an update. This morning an important Access
application started acting squirrly and I have been unable to correct it.
All of my archived older versions of my app are acting up the same way, which
leads me to believe last nights update did something bad to my computer.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs
Check the box to "Show updates"
Find the update you don't like and click "Remove." (Most, but not all,
updates can be removed.)
