Reusing drop-down and other form fields

My apologies in advance for this disjointed question. I don't even know how
to ask it cogently.

My document contains a table of nested tables with drop-down and other
fields. One of the nested tables, Table X for purposes of this question,
includes a fill-in field and two drop-down fields. What I want to do is make
a change to the selections in a drop-down list and have it propagated to all
the other occurrences of table X in the document.

Suzanne,

Thanks for the URL. I read it and unless I missed something, it doesn't
really answer my question. I want to build a drop-down list and use the
field (with it's list, not just the selection) repeatedly, a la a style in
Word. Did I miss something?

TIA,
Larry

You want to repeat the entire dropdown, not just the result, then?
Copy/paste doesn't do it for you?

In this online form, a log of activities, the field is used many times. I'm
looking for a way to be able to change the content of the drop-down list in
ALL occurences of the field with one operation much like changing a style
propagates the format in all uses of the style.
