Can anyone tell me a freeware/shareware program that allows return
receipt email using a Yahoo address?

I seem to recall one offered on cnet downloads, but cannot find it
now.

I'm not sure I'm clear on what you're asking: do you want to send return
receipts requests with email you send from a yahoo account?

Or do you want to acknowledge return receipts from people who send them to your
yahoo account?

I just tested it, and it works (both ways) if you use a regular email client.
Log into your account, click "mail options" and then click "pop access and
forwarding" and it will tell you how. You have to agree to get a couple emails
from them once in a while (3 weeks, and I haven't got one yet).

You can then use any standard email client like outlook express with your yahoo
account, and send return receipts and return receipt requests.
