Return from screensaver on a locked machine shortly exposes the desktop

Hi,

I lock my machine (using <win>-<l>), the screensaver kicks in, I move the
mouse so that the screensaver stops and for a short while I am able to see
the desktop background which I should not be allowed to see since I have not
unlocked the machine, yet. Can anyone else reproduce this bug?

Erik,
Which version & sku of Vista and which screensaver are you using?

I'm using Vista Ultimate x64 (build 6000) and the Windows Logo screensaver.

On an x86 system, same SKU & screensaver, 1.83gb Duo, 2gb RAM, 256mb video;
does not flash the desktop.
By any chance is your swapping memory? That's the only thing I can think of
off the top of my head.

I also have 2 GB RAM and an ATI Radeon X800GT (with 256 MB of video RAM).
I'm using the ATI Catalyst driver version 8.31.100.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you are asking. Can you ask differently?
