retrieving user accounts on win XP home

I had a problem earlier today and I had to use the HP
System Recovery utility (i own a HP computer) to fix it.
Everything is working fine now except that I had 5 user
accounts on this computer and now I cannot retrieve them.
Each of the folders for the accounts are still on the
computer, but since they were all password protected I
can't get into them to see if all the files are still
there. I am assuming they are, and I need to know how to
set up my accounts again so that I can access them.
