Retrieving E-mails from another machines hard drive

Hi all, my problem is this mky sisters machine has died and subsequently she requires her emails and other stuff of the drive. She has sent the drive to me and i am unable to boot directly of the drive and so have it as a secondary drive. I can access all the photos and docs but cannot for the life of me find the contacts list and a way of retrieving the received emails. Is there any way to do this? Thanks a mill Dave S
