Whenever I resume from stand by, as the computer wakes up y get the sound
that you get when you connect a new peripheral and the one you get when you
disconnect it 8 times in succesion. This started happening after a recent
windows clean install, and wasn't the case before. This is normally not a big
problem, but it can sometimes cause a BSOD. Any suggestions???

Many thanks.

Open Device Manager, open the properties on each USB Root Hub, click the
Power tab, and deselect "Allow the computer to turn off this device to
save power". A NIC and some other devices might have this option too.

Thanks for that, I thought it had to do with USB. I tried what you said, but
the problem remains... I'll try rebooting in a while to see if that sorts
it.

Many thanks again.

Nope, it didn't work... I'll look for other devices windows might be trying
to power control...

thanks
