Restoring Open Folders On Reboot

A

Art Sheppard

It seems that about the time I applied SP-4, when I restart windows 2000
Pro that what ever folders were open on the Desktop at Shut Down are not
reopened. I have set "Remember Folder Settings" under Folder Options,
and when I restart Windows 2k opens with just the default Desktop. Any
Assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

You can enable that in the Registry.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced]
"PersistBrowsers"=dword:00000001

Change the value to 0 to deactivate.

You are most welcome. Most people don't want Explorer windows reopening at boot, but I do since I may have drilled down pretty far to get to something I am working with and intend to keep working with at next boot. It's a minor inconvenience to close a window I didn't want and forgot to close, but much less hassle than finding my way back to the ones I want.
