Hello everyone. This sould be really easy for many of you. I tried to restore
my laptop with the restore DVD (that i got with the sistem) made with Norton
Ghost and has the original factory configuration for the Windows XP Media
Center Edition 2005. The process finished apparently with no errors an then
as I tried to start my computer, the OS does not run. The screen remains
black with a blinking underscore on the top left but I can't write anything.

I have done this several times with the same results. The only way that I
manage to start Windows with the factory settings and programs is to install
another XP in the same disk partition (this time with the normal system
recovery DVD) and choose the second option as I turn on the system. So if I
do it this way, my laptop has two Windows and I have to choose one of them
each time. Any help will be greatly apreciated.

What is the make and model of this mystery laptop? Are you able to post
a link to the directions you followed?

What was the reason you wanted to reinstall XP in the first place? (This
is rarely necessary.)
