restore to previous Windows version

I installed WinXP Professional over WinXP Home version.
Now my HP printer will not install. It says in the
printer instructions I was suppose to uninstall the
printer software before upgrading the OS.
WindowsXP restore will only go back to the date I
installed WinXP Pro. How can I get it to go back to
WindowXP Home edition so I can uninstall the printer
software completely before installing WinXP Pro upgrade?
Please email me at (e-mail address removed) if you know a
solution.

You cannot uninstall back to Home. You might be able to reinstall the HP
software and then uninstall it from the machine but you wont be able to roll
back the OS side of this without restoring the machine via your repair disk
(formatting it).

Let's try it another way. Have you gone to the HP web site and seen if
there is a newer version of the printer driver than the one on your OEM CD,
as there frequently is? If so, download and install this newer driver, and
your printer's functionality should be restored. If not, re-run Setup, and
then remove it, reboot the computer and try again.
