restore stops at halfway point

I'm attempting to restore my WinXP due to boot.ini error. It gets to where
it states it's 35 minutes to go, and freezes. I left it for 4 hours, and it
still was there. When I attempt to restart the computer, it just goes
directly to "need to finish the installation", and hangs once again. I have
tried everything I can think of to bypass this, but with no luck. Any
suggestions appreciated.

Additional info - tried it again this morning, and it stops at Installing
Windows - Installing Devices. Just hangs.

I am having the same problem, but mine stops at 34 min to go. Is there any
way to cancel setup and boot from original OS? Jamie, if you resolve this
issue, please post solution or email address. Thanks!

I got my installation to complete by removing the PC cards from my laptop.
Remove everything peripheral from your computer except for the monitor and
see if that works.

Thanks Mike. I never did get it to work, what I ended up doing was
installing a "new" version on a separate drive. At least that way I can get
to my files on the drive that was messed up. What fun!
