system restore hangs

how much time should system restore take

i tried it twice and after 1/2 hour i turned compouter off

i get a msg then that restore was incomplete and my system is in worse
postion as system is half restored, i should restore to time before my
restore attempt but it fails too ( after boot the restore prosses
hangs),should i wait for an hour or ???

i did it a month ago and took me 2 minutes

pls help me here

Attempt to boot into Safe Mode and undo the last restore.
