Restore problem

I am using MS Windows XP Professional,When I restor my
system from normal booting mode it's showing an
error "System Restore is not able to protect your
computer.Pls restart your computer and then run System
Restor again"
I also tried same thing from command prompt in safe
mode,facing same problem.Pls help me how to restore my
XP.Its booting time very very very much slow.And also
facing an error " The RPC service is unavailabr and could
not start RPC service on local computer" when I start
Server services.

than 2002 and using updated virus definitions) show?
