Dear All
I turned off system restore (temporarily), to remove old files before a disk
defragmentation session. Afterwards I was not able to turn it back on, but
windows asked me to do a restart and try activating it (sys restore) again
afterwards. After the restart, the Restor tab of system properties was no
longer there(!). I then tried to start the system restore service manually
(from the services managment window), but got the message that it failed
because of access denied. I have an updated virus scanner, which tells me
the system is clean.
I would really like to turn on System Restore!
Any clues?

PS: The permissions on my system disk might have become messed up for some
reason. When I logged on to the Administrator account, I was denied access
to the Program Files folder (!). Could this have the same reason as my
restore problem?
