Restore Problem.

Hi,
Just before migrating from W2K to Vista Home Premium, I perfromed a backup
of all document & program files on my system - a total of 17 CR-R disks. I
now need to restore some early documents and have discovered that I can't
access my backups - even when running the NT Restore Utility I just
downloaded & installed.

Each of my backup CDs contains only two files. One is a desktop.ini file
which contains the following:

[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21815

The second is a RERADME.TXT file that contais the following:

===========
Backup CD
===========

This disc is a backup CD.

Except for this file the contents of this disc must be
accessed using your backup software.

Does anyone know how I can access my backups?

TIA

I appreciate the prompt response, but I'm afraid this wasn't much help. As I
said, I had already tried the NT Restore Utility. It didn't help, because
none of my 18 CD-Rs contain the *.bkf file the utility is looking for. I've
examined each of the CDs and they appear identical with the exception of the
last one. When inserted, each displays "BACKUP" as its volume name and shows
the 2 files I mentioned. When I check properties, each displays as follows:
Type: CD Drive
File System: CDFS
Used Space: 65,536 bytes 64.0 KB
Free Space: 0 bytes 0 bytes
Capacity: 65,536 bytes 64.0 KB

The exception, CD-R #18, displays no volume name when inserted and contains
only the desktop.ini file -not the README.txt file. WEhen I check its
properties, it has no entry for "File system" and shows capacity, used space
and free space as 0 bytes. (These are all full-size CD-Rs, with 700 MB
capacity.)
Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help
