Restore Point Crash

R

REH

I used the system restore to restore my laptop to an earlier date and the
system crashed during the restart portion of the restore.

My laptop will turn on and appears to be running fine but I have lost many
functions like when I press the help and support icon nothing happens, I
cannot load any programs via my CD rom drive.

I tried to access the system restore from the system restore by using the
Command prompt and when it starts all I get is a new screen "system restore"
but it is just a blank white window. When I tried to load a program from
the CD drive I again just get a blank white window.

Is there any other way to restore my system short of formatting it and
reloading all the software?

You might boot to xp cd,recovery console, select 1 for C:,press enter for
password,type:Fixboot Agree, Type:CHKDSK C: /R Once thru,type:EXIT
Let xp start.And/or,tap F8 on pc start, safe mode, enter as administrator,
create a new user account, exit xp,start xp in new account.Youre old account
maybe corrupted,delete if so..
