restore permanently deleted email folder from Outlook 2000

I clicked the single email message, however for some reason the system
deleted my entire folder. Is there any way I can recover this permanently
deleted folder?

Please advise ASAP as this was my working file.

You deleted it from the Deleted Items folder? If so you should be able to
just click on your Deleted Items folder, then go to Tools -> Recover Deleted
Items.

If however you "hard deleted" (pressed Shift while you deleted, bypassing
the Deleted Items folder entirely) then you would have to edit the registry
in order to enable the deleted item recovery for folders other than Deleted
Items.

Read the following support article for more information on enabling the
Recover Deleted Items option for other folders:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/246153

Hope this helps.

That only applies to an Exchange server connection. Granted, the OP didn't
state what she was using.

Thank you very much to you both for your prompt response. For the record, I
operate a small virtual office from a home com with Exchange support. I was
able to recover the main folder body and messages, although most of the
messages in my subfolders were lost.

I very much appreciate the time and reponses.

Thank you

Have you checked your Deleted Items folder already? Folders will be listed
as a subfolder.

If you permantly deleted from a pst-file see;

For an Exchange account see Joe Grover's reply.
