Restore from Backup doesn't include state data.

How do I restore state data? I lost all program
registrations (& ODBC & other stuff), so almost nothing
works. Yet the program files are there.
 
You can't backup program installations, because most programs have to do a
number of changes to the registry to function properly. You will need to
find the original CDs for your programs and re-install.
