Restarts at Shutdown

My XP Home developed a problem - when I shut down the computer, it
automatically restarts itself after a few seconds. Is there a solution to
fix the problem?

Check your BIOS for "Wake on" events, like for your NIC, modem, or a
timer.

To resolve this problem follow the following steps
Click on start --click on run--type msconfig and hit on ok
on the general page select the option selective startup and uncheck the entries below them.After uncheking it will definately let you the system shutdown
If you able to shutdown again do msconfig and recheck the files once again
