restarting

my windows xp pro fails to restart after installing
programs,updates, or just using the restart on the start
menu. I have to use the reset button on computer. I am
running abit kd7-raid mb with amd 2700-333fsb and 512mb
memory. also geforce fx 5200. Can anyone help? thank you,

Hi Howard,

Best thing to do is to start manually shutting down programs and processes
until the you are able to. You need to isolate which is preventing this
process, I'd start with AV, firewall, and any disk utilites.
