Hi,

Hoping someone can help with this. I set up a shortcut to restart my
computer and want to use the restart icon (white star). However, only
the shutdown icon is in the shell32.dll.

Does anyone here no where I can find it in win xp?

Thanks

I found an icon that someone created that matches the above icon. I
would still be interested in where the restart icon is located however :)
Thanks

It's not stored as an icon per se, but as a bitmap(20150) in msgina.dll. You can view and extract it using Resource Hacker:

Then save as an .ico file.

Good Luck,

Thanks for the info. I downloaded the software, but msgina.dll only
contained a bitmap with the shutdown/standby/restart icons as one big
bitmap and not each singly. Any idea where that might be if at all. Thanks.

It doesn't exist. I take it you found the vertical strip bitmap that contains multiple button images. There are separate images for normal, mouse-over, and pressed states. You would need to extract the bitmap, open it in an image editor, crop the portion you wanted, and re-save it.
