Restart Failiure

Anybody help me with the following please.

"The last attempt to restart the system from its previous location failed.
Attempt to restart again?

Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu

Continue with system restart"

I get the above message when I start up my PC. I run Windows XP with service
pack 2. I have not loaded any new programs or fiddled with any other stuff.
The messgae is dispalyed on a black sceen, and the last two lines appear to
be alternatives, but I ma uanble to action either as my keyboard is not
active. It won't even allow me to press enter. The message just stays forever.

Thanks

Hi,
Are you using a wireless keyboard or perhaps USB keyboard, you may need to
find an PS/2 keyboard to use these type of menus. If you didn't do anything
to the system before this message then I'm not sure why it would have booted
with this message, I can only think it was a system restore.
Does the message time out with one of the options being a default.??

Does the comuter start in Safe Mode?

What is your computer make and model?

What is your Windows XP CD? How is it described on the face of the CD?

Hope this helps.

Thanks, my keyboard was a wireless one, I had to out and get a new keyboard with PS/2 connection. This allowed to select the second option, and everthing restarted fine. There was no indication as to what had happened or why. Thanks again.
