After 2 hours with DELL trying to get an Axim to talk to an Inspiron,
and then another 2 hours fixing my deleted USB drivers and other
assorted problems, the only problems I can not fix are the following.

On restart get the following message.....
Invalid boot.ini file
Booting from C:/Windows

Everything appears normal

If I try to start Corel Drwa 9 I get the following........

LOAD CONFIGURATION FILE dialog box

The status bar configuration file is corrupt
Using the default configuration instead

The status bar configuration file has an old format
Using the default configuration instead

The menu configuration file is corrupt
Using the default configuration instead

The menu configuration file has an old format
Using the default configuration instead

The docking file is corrupt
Using the default configuration instead

Corel has encountered a problem and needs to close.....etc.
send report....... yes no

I uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times but always the same result,
Corel Draw 8 does not have this problem but I need Version 9.

I have not noticed this with any other programs? Yet!

And the Axim still don't sync!

Boot.ini is damaged, so the boot is trying the common location of
C:\Windows. No *real* problem but to fix, if you have a 'proper' not
restore/recovery CD, is

Set the BIOS to boot CD before Hard Disk. Boot the XP CD and, instead
of Setup, take the immediate R for Repair. Assume any password
requested is blank, and TAB over.
Give:
ATTRIB -H -R -S C:\Boot.ini
DEL C:\Boot.ini
(thus deleting the old one)
BootCfg /Rebuild
